Pride Sponsor – $250
Books or snacks for a site.

Justice Sponsor – $500
Support 1 scholar for 1 year.

As Justice Sponsor, you will be supporting a Freedom Readers scholar for one full year. Each scholar is paired one-to-one with a volunteer tutor who has completed our enhanced literacy training and passed background checks to ensure scholar safety. Each scholar will be assessed by a team of educators several times throughout the year to make sure their tutor is focused on working toward that individual scholar’s needs.Your sponsorship will also provide new books for the scholar’s home library and nutritious snacks during tutoring sessions.

Honor Sponsor – $1,000
Support 1-3 scholars for 1 year.

Empowerment Sponsor – $2,500
Support 1 small site for 1 year

As a Empowerment Sponsor, you will support one small, in person Freedom Readers site for one year. A small site can host 5-8 scholars, with an individual tutor dedicated to each child. Our volunteer tutors have completed enhanced literacy training and passed background checks to ensure scholar safety. Each of the scholars at this site will be assessed by a team of educators several times throughout the year to make sure their tutor is focused on working toward that individual scholar’s needs. Your sponsorship will also provide new books for the scholars’ home libraries and nutritious snacks during tutoring sessions.

Freedom Sponsor – $5,000
Support 1 large site for 1 year

As a Freedom Sponsor, you will support one large and well established in person Freedom Readers site for one year. A Freedom sponsored site can host 10-15 scholars, with an individual tutor dedicated to each child. Our volunteer tutors have completed enhanced literacy training and passed background checks to ensure scholar safety. Each of the scholars at this site will be assessed by a team of educators several times throughout the year to make sure their tutor is focused on working toward that individual scholar’s needs. Your sponsorship will also provide new books for the scholars’ home libraries and nutritious snacks during tutoring sessions.

Additional Partnering Opportunities with Freedom Readers

There are opportunities for you to partner with Freedom Readers by engaging in activities or providing resources that promote high academic achievement and improved literacy skills. Some of the services churches and religious organizations, businesses, community groups and concerned individuals can provide to support our work include the following:

  • Become a literacy volunteer tutor
  • Donate funds
  • Be a guest speaker
  • Provide technical support for computers and website
  • Offer foreign language lessons
  • Offer book donations
  • Recruit new volunteers
  • Coordinate our site’s snacks inventory and/or host a snack drive
  • Make contact with our scholars’ parents/guardians
  • Maintain records pertaining to young scholars
  • Help plan our volunteer training sessions
  • Act as a liaison to Horry County, Georgetown and Williamsburg County Schools
  • Photograph and/or videotape sessions and special events
  • Organize special events such as our last day of session Proud Days (pizza parties, etc.)
